Loehr, Edward “Eddie”, W., 87 passed way Friday November 4, 2011. Born October 8, 1924. Family and Friends Visitation is Monday, November 7th at 6:00 P.M. with Rosary to follow at 7:00P.M. at Downing Lahey East. Funeral Mass is Tuesday, November 8th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2801 S. Seneca. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. He was a retired machinist. Edward is survived by his brother, Lawrence(Rita)Loehr of Garden Plain, KS; step-daughter, Jackie Donahue of Wichita, KS; step-son, Alan Donahue of Evanston, Il; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth; parents, Peter and Frances Loehr,; brothers, Joe, Matt, Ferd, Alfons, Roman and Albert; sisters, Trieda Wahlets and Marie Gleason, He grew up on the family farm in Ost, Kansas. Eddie loved to water ski, especially with his nieces and nephews. He was a machinist for many years with Cardwell Mfg and later for Ernstmann Machine Shop. In November 1973 he and Ruth met, and then married May 31, 1974. Ruth and Eddie designed and built their dream home in 1979. Their extensive travels together took them to nearly all of the U.S. National Parks and to Canada, Mexico and Europe. With retirement he found more time to do the things he loved, playing golf, gardening, tinkering and traveling. He spent his last years with Ruth at Sedgwick Plaza. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with St. Anne Catholic Church, 2801 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS 67217 Downing Lahey Mortuary East.   1. My Mother, Lois Smith, and I have known Ed for several years after she moved to Sedgwick Plaza. Ed and Ruth were both very special people to us and he always shared the seeds from his beautiful flowers with me. We will miss his smiling face and his kindness. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time.
