Edwin Wayne Eaglin

It is with sadness on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, Edwin “Wayne” Eaglin went to be with the Lord at the age of 84.
Wayne was born on the family farm in Grenola, KS. on September 22, 1935. He was the son of John Hobart and Bertha Faye Eaglin. He was raised on the farm and received his education in Grenola.
In 1961, Wayne married Gayla Thompson. With this union two children were born, Michael and Teresa. The couple later divorced but remained friends over the years.
Wayne began his career at Binny and Smith Crayola factory in Winfield in 1962. He retired from the company in 1998. He was a member of the Hackney Baptist Church in Hackney, KS. He had a love for KU basketball, Dallas Cowboys football, and John Wayne movies.
Wayne leaves behind his two children, Michael (LaDonna) Eaglin of Newkirk, OK. and Teresa (Patrick) Hoskinson of Wichita, KS. His grandchildren: Nichole Forcum of Memphis, TN., Jason (Heather) Eaglin, Ian, Ryan, Tristan and Robyn Hoskinson, all of Wichita, KS., Ali (Landon) Carpenter and Landon Hey of Newkirk, OK. and Tyler (Sydney) Houchin of Jacksonville, NC. He also had 6 great-grandchildren. His siblings, John Eaglin of Haysville, KS., Janice (Wally) Isom and Joyce (Kim) Black of Winfield, KS., and sister in law Carrie Eaglin of Arkansas City, KS. He leaves many nieces and nephews as well.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Merlin Eaglin and infant sister.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
