Mary Jo and family I’m so sorry for your loss. Eldon was very special to me. I especially remember working close to him at St Francis Hospital. He was always so kind and respected by those who worked with him. May he rest in peace.
My sincere condolences to Mary Jo, Tim and Melissa, Leland and Zoe and the rest of Schumacher family. Eldon was a kind and generous man and a gentle soul. It was a great honor to know him over the past 25+ years. Although I didn’t see him often we enjoyed many restaurant outings with the family during my visits to Wichita. It was always a pleasure to spend time with Eldon and Mary Jo on holidays and visits. Eldon will be greatly missed.
Aunt Jo and Tim and family, our deepest condolences to all of you at this difficult time. May God walk with you; help you find peace and comfort. Uncle Elmo was a great man, always had his own sense of humor that would make people laugh. He will and has always been a great part of our memories we all share.

Eldon was not only a former colleague, he was a dear friend. He was instrumental in educating the hospitals in Kansas on accounting and reimbursement. He was a leader in his field both statewide and nationally. Although he had been retired a few years, many of us still hear his voice of instruction as we heard it so many times in the past.
His passion for educating the rural hospitals was unmatched and we are so thankful he made our days and our jobs more tolerable. I will truly miss him.
I remember Eldon patiently waiting in the hallway off the ER for us to get off duty! He was one of the smartest men I knew and definitely one of the most diligent and kindest. His reward I’m sure is great as he is wrapped in the Gentle Arms of Jesus. Asking our Lord to give you, Mary Jo and Tim, comfort and memories that go beyond grief and loss to smiles as you remember Eldon. Condolences to all the family.
With loving memories of “Eldon Schumacher”,
Jo and Family: My sincere condolences to you and your family as you grieve the loss of your loved one. As Eldon was so important to you as a husband, father and grandfather, he was also an icon in health care finance. He was a great friend and mentor to hundreds of health care finance professionals across the state of Kansas. He was very passionate in his desire to share his knowledge, often adding in his own unique and “colorful” commentary. He was so generous in sharing his knowledge and also provided many hours of education and advocacy with the State and Federal policy makers regarding the rules and regulations of the Medicare program. He taught us, he made us think, he made us laugh, and he filled the room with his voice and his knowledge.
Eldon will always be remembered and loved by the health care finance professionals for his leadership, education and policy contributions over his 50 plus year career.
Rest in peace, my friend. We miss you!

Eldon was my mentor not only in the business world but also in the ups and downs of life. I was so blessed to have him as a good friend and that our life paths crossed. He will be greatly missed.
Mary Jo, I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Eldon. Eldon and I were classmates at the original Kapaun High School. I don’t have too many memories of those days so many years ago but I do remember that Eldon was always very friendly. I always enjoyed greeting him at church and I will miss that. I will keep you and Eldon in my prayers.
I admired Eldon for his unwavering commitment to his faith, family, and friends. He inspired me to aspire to those priorities.
A nationally known healthcare attorney commented to me at a meeting that Eldon had one of the finest minds of anyone he had ever met, and he would often call Eldon to get his insight into a national healthcare issue.
I benefited greatly from that fine mind. I will always be grateful for Eldon’s friendship and for the profound impact he had on my career in healthcare finance and compliance. He was always generous with his time and knowledge via a phone call or email. I enjoyed listening to him speak at conferences as he shared his knowledge on complicated and technical healthcare finance and compliance rules and regulations…which he counterbalanced with his outrageously humorous comments on them. Eldon was a remarkable man and I was so blessed by him. Vicki Caywood
I feel so lucky to have worked with Eldon. He definitely was my mentor in healthcare finance and was always willing to listen and help me under What to do. Mary Jo and family, I know he will be missed by all of you. Condolences to your family. He will be missed.
