Eleanor M. Balcom

Eleanor M. Balcom 97, retired programmer for The Wichita Eagle and homemaker, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018. Funeral Service, 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Preceded in death by parents, George and Annie Harness; loving husband, Jack Balcom; son, John Balcom. Survived by daughters, Catherine A. Balcom of Mulvane, Rose Marie (Ricky) Harroald of Belle Plaine, Cheryl Lynn (Michael) Fuller of Mulvane, and daughter-in-law, Charissa Balcom; grandchildren, Michelle Cave, Michael (Julie) Bullard, Patrick Bullard, Kristie Jo Harroald, Keith Balcom, Matthew (Danielle) Shively, Joshua (Alex) Shively, Tiffany Fuller; 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Eleanor was a loving soul, adventurous traveler and helped so many in her life. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her. Memorials have been established with Villa Maria, 116 S.
