Winters, Eleanor, 88, died peacefully Easter Sunday. Memorial Service will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at College Hill United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Winters, and 8 brothers and sisters. Survived by: son, Steve (Don Curtis) Winters of Chicago, IL; daughters, Marilyn (Randy) Whipple, Martha (Randy) Poinsett, both of Wichita; grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick) Griffin, Matthew (Christy) Whipple, Ryan Whipple, Sarah Poinsett, Sam Poinsett; great-grandchild, Matthew Houser. Eleanor was an executive secretary at Beech Aircraft and later at Cessna before developing a successful career in real estate. She loved reading, playing bridge, traveling (especially cruising) and enjoyed the challenge of solving puzzles. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. The foundation was created by Eleanors granddaughter, Jennifer, who is a quadruple amputee. PLAY Foundation helps young people continue active lifestyles after suffering amputations.
