Elisa Ann Gasper

March 6, 1958 ~ June 15, 2015
Elisa Ann (Campbell) Gasper, passed peacefully on Monday, the 15th of June, 2015, surrounded by her husband, John, her parents, Joyce and Rodney, and her sister, Terrie. Elisa was born on March 6, 1958, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Joyce Boothby and Rodney Campbell, who survive her. She also leaves behind her beloved husband, John Gasper, whom she married in September of 1995. Her sisters, Sabrina Campbell and Terrie Brown; brother-in-law, Dave; 4 nephews and 3 nieces, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins, whom she loved dearly, all survive her. Family and friends were Elisas delight and passion, and it brought her great joy to connect with each and every one of them by way of phone calls, online or letters. She also maintained a special place in her heart for the family home of her grandparents, Hardy and Tressa Powell, in Silo, Oklahoma, and cherished the time she spent there. Some of her fondest memories were of impromptu family get-togethers there, and she and John were in the process of planning their semi-retirement to Silo hill. A visitation with the family will be held from 4-6 p.m., Saturday, July 18 at Downing Lahey Mortuary West, 10515 W. Maple in Wichita. A family service is planned for a date to be determined in Silo, Oklahoma, where she will be laid to rest. Elisa had a special love for elephants, and John asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Sedgwick County Zoo of Wichita, where a habitat is being built for elephants. The project is called “E is for Elephants So Am I”. In Elisas memory and honor, you may contact Tanya, 316-266-8211 to donate.
