Elizabeth Theresa “Betty” Holloway, 93, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021, in Madison, Alabama. Born in Spearville, Kansas, Betty was a resident of Wichita from 1954 until moving to Madison, Alabama in 2017. She was a founding member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and a retired registered staff nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for 40 years. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her children, John C. Holloway and Mary Kay Beard (Gary); sisters, Jane Steimel, Marion Rainbolt and Dianne Lawrence; grandchildren, David Beard, Thomas Beard (Meg), Katie Yates (Josh), and great-grandchildren, Luke Beard and Gabe Beard. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ivra D. Feist; brothers, Jim Feist, Tom Feist and Jesse Feist; sister, Carole Wood; husband of 60 years, John M. Holloway, and son, Jim Holloway. Rosary, 10:15 a.m.; Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., both Saturday, August 21, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.

I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Betty’s passing but am comforted by her long, loving, and full life. One of my fondest memories of Aunt Betty is her traveling all the way to California for my wedding in 1992. May she rest in peace!
