Elva S Elkouri

Elva S. Elkouri, 98, born in Fort Madison, Iowa on March 9, 1924, passed away at her home, her daughter and granddaughter with her on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Visitation will be at 10:00 am, with Trisagion and Funeral Service at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, all at St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral. Elva is survived by siblings, Charles (Jimme Lou) Shadid of Oklahoma City, OK, Yamama (Dr. Richard) Joseph of Joplin, MO and Dr. Ed (Darlene) Shadid of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Connie Faour of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Preceded in death by parents, Albert A. and Raeefa "Eva" Shadid; husband, George Ed Elkouri; and sons, Ed R. Elkouri, Ronald G. Elkouri; brother, Dr. Buddy Shadid. Elva was a member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral, St. Ignatius. She was vice president and president of Antiochian Orthodox Women of North America.
