Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I taught with Emily at STA for several years and loved the enthusisam she brought….even to faculty meetings! I loved her energy and zeal for life. I’m so saddened by your loss and my prayers are with you and the STA family.

  2. The entire school community of Holy Spirit Catholic School has your family in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless all of you in the days to come.

  3. Emily and I attended WSU together. We became friends and kept in touch over the past several years. She was a sweet person, and I will miss her. I pray that God comforts you all. God Bless

  4. Emily taught all four of our children at St. Thomas Aquinas. She was their favorite teacher without a doubt. Emily’s positive and joyous personality left a lasting impression on each one of them at an early age. Our family is heart broken with the news of this tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

  5. Marshall–I am so sad for you and your children. I was just introduced to Emily a couple weeks ago @ Magdalen by my daughter Terri Hessman. She had spoken so highly of Emily and I was pleased to meet her. If I can ever help you as a grandma please let me know.

  6. Dearest Marshall, Ethan, and Devyn, My heart is so heavy for you right now that words really escape me. I only knew you all for a brief time sitting at MAYB basketball tournaments and talking ‘school stuff’ with Emily. May your memories help to comfort you in this incredibly difficult time. My family’s thoughts and prayers are with you. Our Deepest Sympathy, Michelle Forsberg (Garrett’s mom)

  7. I will always remember Emily as one of my favorite students, a great co-worker at STA and a very good friend. My prayers are with all of you at this time of loss. Her legacy will be remembered by all who knew her. I know she was welcomed into heaven with open and loving arms.

  8. I recieved a telephone call from Jennie at KFDI this morning about Emily. My wife and I are very sorry for you and your family. I met Emily at the station and remember her as a beautiful and friendly person. We are sending our prayer and sympathy for your family. Rex and Lynn Childs

  9. You are in our prayers. We were out of town for the student rosary-7th grade class. Taylor was so disappointed to not be able to attend. God Bless You. In Christ Love, Patti & Taylor Davidson

  10. Dearest Marshall, Ethan, and Devyn, My heart goes out to you and your family. My God bless you, and give you the strength you need during this difficult time. I first met Emily through my daughter Kaela. Devyn and Kaela have become good friends over the past few years. I really got to know Emily more as a person when we taugt together last year at Magdalen. I will miss Emily tremedously. She will always have a special place in my heart. I thank God for bringing such a wonderful person into my life. God’s Blessings,

  11. Marshall and family–I was so saddened to hear of Emily’s passing. Life is so very precious. Please know that you are all in our prayers. Love, Dave

  12. Marshall: I completely and utterly helpless to write or say anything that will be helpful or even matter much at this stage in the game. Please know that Jennifer and I are so very sorry and so very saddened for you and your family. We have been praying for you, Ethan, and Devyn since we heard. If there is anything in the world I can do for you — please please call me. Richard

  13. Several of my children were fortunate enough to have been taught by Emily. She was truly a wonderful teacher and a great example of a joyful life. Stephen will always remember her as his favorite teacher because she treated him the best in all his years at STA. Every time I saw Emily I would tell her that ‘she had ruined him for all other teacher!’ It was the truth. No one has ever come close to holding that place in his heart. Thank you for sharing her with us. May God give you the strength to carry this burden of losing her so young.

  14. Emily was a wonderful and sweet person, and a dear cousin. Her smile could light up a room and your heart. I know she will be missed by all who knew her, as she truly had the gift of touching one’s life in a positive way. Marshall, Ethan, Devyn and the whole DeBroeck family are in our thoughts — With our deepest sympathies, Kay & Bryan Joubert

  15. Mike, Mr.De Broeck and the Porter Family, I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Emily. My sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Paul Edmiston thought so much of Emily. As a mother, she is the type of teacher/role model I want for my boys.:) I hope and pray you will find peace and comfort in the days ahead.

  16. Marshall, Regrettably, I only had the pleasure of meeting Emily a couple of times, but have heard wonderful things about her. I am so sorry for this heartbreaking loss and will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

  17. What can you say about someone who touched so many? No amount of words seem sufficient. Anyone who met her knew they were in the presence of someone special. To be counted among her very large circle of friends, was truly a priviledge. She had the sweetest, warmest sense of humor. In spite of all she’d dealt with (MS, migraines, the passing of her mother at too early an age), she went through life with a bright smile…a smile she spread to all she encountered. Being a teacher for so many years, she helped shape so many lives. Being a wife and mother, she helped save lives, too. So…what do you say to someone who touched so many? Simply this: Thank you, Emily. Our lives are better for having been part of yours. We love you and we always will. May you rest in peace.

  18. Jim and Leo, Our deepest sympathies go out to you and the rest of the family. We are very sad to hear about your loss.

  19. Marshall, So sorry to hear about Emily’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
