MAIZE - Palmer, Cpl. Eric “Eeker”, 21, died Sunday, June 24, 2007. Visitation with family, 3:00-6:00 P.M., Sunday, July 1, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Service, 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 2, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Andover. Preceded in death by uncles, Gary and Mike Palmer. Survivors: parents, John and Dena Palmer of Maize; brother, Travis (Amy) Palmer; niece, Camryn; nephew, Jackson; half-brother, Jacob Palmer; half-sister, Debra Palmer; nephew, Daylan, all of Wichita; grandmother, Cleora Koester of Maize; uncles, Kenny (Jan) Palmer, Robert (Lori) Palmer and family, C.L. (Opal) Palmer, Gary (Teri) Koester, Mike Koester; aunts, Delores (Tom) Gould, Mary Palmer, Carol Palmer and Sue Gipson; numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Sisters of St. Joseph Dear Neighbor Ministry, 3700 E. Lincoln, Wichita, KS 67218. Eric, your family wants you to know that you make us so proud and we love you so much.

Having a son in the military and also one that has been in Iraq, I know your anguish the past several months, but now I can only imagine your grief……..Eric is a TRUE AMERICAN HERO!!!!!! If not for people like him we wouldn’t enjoy the freedoms that we do…..My heart and prayers go out to the Palmer family as you and Eric gave the ultimate.
