Erma Smith, 91, Statistician, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, both on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Valley Center Christian Church. Preceded in death by her first husband, William D. Ferguson; second husband, Wilber Lewis Smith; parents, Arleigh C. and Jessie Howlett; two brothers & two sisters; step-son, David L. Smith. Survived by her daughter, Denise Jones; sons, Randall K. (Martha) Ferguson, Lance O. Ferguson; step-daughter, Verna Lee Asbell; step-sons, Larry D. Smith, Kevin L. Smith; grandchildren, Dustin (Sarah) Jones, Benjamin Ferguson, Dylan Jones, Taylor Ferguson; ten great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with: Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 E. 5th Street, Valley Center, KS 67147. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel.

Erma was a wonderful lady always smiling and happy! She will be truly missed by us all. The Brewers
Erma was so good to me over the years. My Aunt Lucille and i ran into her and Dorthea. And always enjoyed the visit. When Aunt Lucille was ill she helped a great deal until i could get there from Missouri. She and Denise helped me alot then. It was a pleasure to know this wonderful Christian lady. Rest in peace Erma. Blessings and sympathy to the family.
After her sister our mother Geraldine passed away and we moved to Valley Center Aunt Erma and her other sister Aunt Arline became like a second mothers to us, she will be truly missed, Love you Aunt Erma
