Hill, Eugene F., 86, father, husband, and friend to many, died at home, Thursday, December 30, 2004, surrounded by his family. Gene lived an adventurous and colorful life during his 86 years. A farm boy from Walnut, Kansas, he worked in the gold mines of Alaska, was a decorated combat veteran of WWII, became a successful business owner, later returned to Alaska as an Inspector for the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline, and then spent his “retirement years” as an Inspector for Rice Goodness Engineers. He married Patricia McClarnan on November 29th, 1952, and became the proud and boastful father of six children: Joan M., Gina A. (Kyle), Joe (Jeralyn), Mary Patricia Kopf, Catherine Eaker (Bob), and Dennis M.; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Margaret Mary Adams, and brothers, Howard, Ben, and James Hill. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harold and Eric Hill. Rosary is Sunday, January 2nd, 7:00 P.M., and Rite of Christian Burial is Monday, January 3rd, 10:00 A.M., both at St. Patricks Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established with Center of Hope, 400 N. Emporia, Wichita, KS 67202, The Lords Diner, 520 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214, and St. Patricks Catholic Church, 2007 Arkansas, Wichita, KS 67203. Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Rosary, 7 P.M., Sunday, January 2, St. Patrick Catholic Church
