Eugene "Gene" A. Fuhr

Eugene “Gene” A. Fuhr, born January 7, 1936 in Kansas City, MO, died January 1, 2022. The adopted son of Florian and Mary Fuhr, he attended elementary school and Hayden High School in Topeka. Gene graduated from St. Benedict’s College, Atchison, KS, in 1958 and earned a Master's Degree from Emporia State College. He married Phyllis Geier in 1959 in Waverly, KS. He was employed with USD 259, Div. Of Vocational Education, retired from there in 1996, then served as a part-time contract employee for 17 years at The Boeing Co. Gene was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Ann Walshire (Bob), Topeka; his wife, Phyllis, of the home; a daughter, Beth Isern (Rod), Wichita; and four sons: Joe (Peggy), High Point, NC; John (Jen), Melbourne, Australia; Jeff, Denver, CO; and Sam, Chicago IL; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. A private family rosary and Mass will be held. A recording of the service will be available through Church of the Resurrection’s YouTube page.
