Eylene Gaudreau

January 9, 1955 ~ April 17, 2022
Eylene Gaudreau (nee Gilliland) passed away April 17, 2022 after her battle against ALS. Eylene was born and raised in El Dorado, KS. She graduated from El Dorado High School, Butler Community College, and Wichita State University, remaining in Wichita thereafter. Eylene had a passion for the arts, and enjoyed attending film festivals, concerts, musicals, and visiting art museums. She also organized a multitude of local social events over the years for several companies, families, and individuals. Eylene loved being a mother, spending time with her friends, and she was an avid tennis player and swimmer. She was a private caregiver to a number of aging clients over the past twelve years, making the end of many peoples’ lives special and comfortable. Eylene had the greatest, most infectious laugh, and her generous, fun-loving, and spirited nature will be missed. She is survived by her daughters, Gabriel Miller (Brett) and Genevieve Gaudreau (Joshua). A celebration of life will be held at the Wichita Country Club on May 19, 2022 from 1-4 pm (8501 E 13th St, Wichita, KS, 67206). The event will be drop-in and beverages and desserts will be provided. Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
Absolutely one of the best and one of my favorite students! Our thoughts and prayers surround you!
Eylene was one of the 1st people that I met when I moved here in 1977. A faithful customer at my store(s) for years. Great laugh & wonderful smile…a real sweetheart! My condolences to her family

Eylene was a very thoughtful, kindhearted friend. We played tennis together in El Dorado! Many great memories!! I was heartbroken when I was told she had ALS. To: Don and Susan Gilliland, Gabriel Miller, Genevieve Gaudreau, and Janet Bartlett From: Anne Smith My sympathy to the family and friends of Eylene Gaudreau and appreciation for all you are doing in remembrance of her life. We had many fun times togther, she was a good friend, and I will miss her. One of the last times we got together when she was still feeling well, we drove out to the lake and she talked about wanting to learn how to sail. Now, I think of her as sailing away. It is so kind of you to plan the Celebration of Life for her, she would be happy and smiling to know that it is taking place. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend the event at the Wichita Country Club, due to prior arrangements that I need to keep. My thoughts are with you—Anne Smith Andover, KS
My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Eylene in Madison, Wisconsin a few years ago. We were lucky to have the shared joy of her daughter, Gabby, and our son, Brett, having met and fallen in love. Even though the meeting was brief, the five of us had a fun, special afternoon walking around downtown and talking and laughing. I learned that Eylene had a love of classic movies (like me). When we took a drive in her car, she also shared with us a bit of her favorite music (with her Lou Rawls CD). That experience was a glimpse into a sweet, outgoing personality that I will always remember. Another time we spent with her was when she did a perfect job of decorating the wedding reception venue for Gabby and Brett. She showed her Supermom energy, creativity and practicality in acheiving a perfect result. We all loved her for her effort and kindness and the event was just wonderful!
Eylene’s infectious laugh was her trademark. Well written obituary. I regret that I didn’t know about her death till months later. She was a long-time friend and provided excellent care for my dad. She will be missed. Charley Ralstin
