Dr. Farmer was my and my sisters’ principal at Mueller Elementary School in the late ’50s – ’60s. Those were some of the best years and fondest memories of my youth. Dr. Farmer and his school secretary, Mrs. Peck, and Mr. Weldon, the custodian, were the stalwarts of the school. I’ll always have fond memories of my time at Mueller because of them.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
Dear Marsha and David, The news of your dad’s death is so sad. He was a wonderful friend to our dad (Woody Fisher). The last couple of years I have exchanged Christmas cards with your father. He was so proud of both of you and happy to be a grandfather and a great-grandfather. You are both so blessed to have had these memories with him. May you soon feel relief from the burden of grief and know the serenity of having a parent who has loved you so dearly and now gone on to be with the Lord he served faithfully and with joy. Peace and joy, Katie Vorlage(you knew me as Kathy Fisher)
OUR SONS ATTENDED CLARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WHEN DOCTOR FARMER WAS PRINCIPAL THERE. OCCASIONALLY, OVER THE YEARS WE WOULD SEE DOCTOR. HE ALWAYS KNEW OUR NAMES AND WHO OUR CHILDREN WERE, NOW 37 & 31. HE WAS SUCH A VERY CARING PERSON AS WELL AS A WONDERFUL DEDICATED EDUCATOR. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH THE FAMILY AT THIS MOST DIFFICULT TIME.
Dr. Farmer was my principal at Clark Elementary school. We also attended the same church for several years. He was always supportive of my gifted program. We continued to exchange holiday greetings and kept up with our lives. He was a wonderful educator and man of faith. My sympathy to his family that he was so proud of and loved so deeply.
It has been my privilege to know George Farmer for at least 45 of my 59 years. I would be hard pressed to think of anyone I have known who was more consistently gracious than George Farmer. Many times George spoke affirming and encouraging words to me. George was a kind man of faith, and I appreciated him and his wonderful family.
Dr. Farmer was a great principal. Always had time to talk and you felt that he really cared about you. My Mom had him as her principal as well. Will always remember his primary colored suits and matching ties and shoes, especially the yellow one!
