Finley, James T., 74, owner of Finleys Hobbies, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010. Service 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 15 at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. James was a member of Douglass Lodge #151 AF AM, and Midian Shrine of Wichita. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill. Survivors: wife, Alma (Sanders) Finley; daughter, Debra Burgardt (James) of Wichita; brothers, John Finley of Wichita and Eldon Finley of Rolla, MO; sister, Jane McHenry of Oklahoma City, OK; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL, 60674.

as a youngster my father took to me to his store and he bought me so many things james sold us.. I loved finley’s hobby in all 3 stores.RC planes engines, gas tanks, plane kits and strong epoxy……I remember when finley’s hobbies as about near kellogg and woodlawn……
Alma and Ryan, I just found out about JT. I am so sorry to here about your loss. I would have made the trip over for the services if I would have heard earlier. JT will be missed by many, but I will truely miss all the hard times he gave me on the phone. I know how hard it is to say goodbye to someone you love. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. If there is any thing I can do please let me know.
Alma, we are so sorry for your loss. i have know jim for many years. we shot trap together many times and had some real good times together, i will allways remember what a great man he was.
I am very sorry to learn about Jim’s passing. From my younger days of going in to see him at the hobby shop to my days running sporting goods stores myself,I always had a great time talking with him. I will miss him greatly, he was one of a kind.
I AM SORRY TO LEARN THAT JIM HAS PASSED . I HONESTLY BELIEVE HE IS IN A FAR BETTER PLACE AND IN THAT PLACE HE WILL NOT SUFFER. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU IN THIS TIME OF LOSS.
Always a good friend and there when you needed him. One of the good ones- he will be missed.
