July 18, 1933 ~ June 29, 2020
Frances L. (Foley) Keffer entered her Heavenly reward Monday, June 29, 2020 at the age of 86. Preceded in death by her husband, Floyd L. Keffer; parents, Charles and Ruth Foley; daughter, Carolyn Veatch. Survived by her children, Michael (Beverly) Keffer of Topeka, KS, Mary K. Keffer of Wichita, KS, Joni (Brian) Hunt of Raymore, MO, Denise (Harley) Nelson of Wichita, KS, Dennis (Renee) Keffer of Overland Park, KS, 21 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. The front room of Frances’ house was decorated with pictures of all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The front room is where Frances loved to take her morning coffee and say her morning prayers looking at her family.
Frances was the youngest child of Charles and Ruth Foley. Frances married her high school sweetheart, Floyd L. Keffer after he returned from a year in the Korean War. Frances and Floyd raised their children in Kansas, living in Hutchinson, Kansas City, and LaCrosse before their final move in 1973 to Wichita, KS. While raising 6 children, Frances worked mostly in retail where she managed departments, was a store buyer for multiple departments, and a store manager before retiring. After retirement, Frances found another calling by providing daycare for several families and creating lasting friendships.
Frances loved to travel. Some of Frances’ trips included Hawaii, Ireland, Rome, and the Panama Canal. Frances loved staying with her children and grandchildren when the opportunity presented itself. Frances also loved traveling to Tucson AZ where she could spend time with her life-long friend Marge Pracht Gehrmann.
Frances was 100% Irish and proud of her Irish heritage. She was concerned when she received blood at the hospital that the donor might not be Irish but we still claim her as 100%. Frances was very passionate about donating blood and platelets and was disappointed when she had to stop donating. There will be a lot of green at the Funeral for Frances as we celebrate her life and heritage.
Rosary will be at 10:30 am, Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, both Monday, July 6, 2020, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

My earliest memories were being taken care of by Frances and Floyd. Those memories are my precious treasures and always will be.
I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. She will always be in my heart. Robert Brooks
