Reibenspies, Francis (Frank) J, In a spirit of Christian joy, the family of Frank Reibenspies commends him to the God whom he loved so well. Frank died of a heart attack at age 89 on Sunday, December 31, a year after his wife Lauras death. During the Mass of the Resurrection, his life will be celebrated by his children and spouses Greg and Gail Reibenspies, Chris and Freddie Manning, Mary and Tom Traxler; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Frank was born the second of five children to George and Theresa Reibenspies on February 8, 1917. His sisters, Mary OShea and Sister Mary Rose, RSM, preceded him in death. His surviving sisters are Rita Carney and Teresa Bomhoff. Frank served in the Signal Corps of the US Army during WWII in the Pacific theater. After Frank met his future wife Laura, they exchanged letters during the war and became engaged on their first true date in 1946. They were married in June of that year and celebrated 59 years of love together until her death from Alzheimers disease in December of 2005. During his career, Frank worked for the US Postal Service where he served 30 years in Wichita, Dallas and finally Minneapolis. His devotion to the Lord was lived in many ways, notably his attendance at daily Mass and praying the rosary. During most of his retirement years, Frank and Laura together delivered Meals on Wheels and took Communion to the sick. When Lauras Alzheimers disease progressed to its final stages, Franks love took the form of humble service as a fulltime caregiver until her death. Frank, who spent so much of his life serving others, will continue watching over his family from heaven. Rosary 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 3, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
I wish to extend my prayers and sympathy at this time of deep sorrow. Frank sat with my dad at the same table at CCC and we all got to know him as a very loving and caring person. No matter what he was doing he always found time to say hello. My dad (Ed Kuhn) will and is missing him deeply.
