Van Bebber, Fred C., 76, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009. Memorial service 1:00 P.M., Thursday, May 28, Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Fred graduated from Lawrence Memorial High School in 1950. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, graduating from the University of Kansas in 1954. Fred served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He was a volunteer with Junior Achievement and was a long time member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and choir member. Fred was a great supporter of K.U. athletics, Wichita State Basketball, Friends University and Sterling College. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Fred was a Financial Advisor for UBS, retiring after 50 years. Preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Charlotte Van Bebber and sister, Nancy Wagstaff. Survivors: wife of 51 years, Harriett; son, Bruce Van Bebber (Pam) and children, Annie, Josh and Caroline; daughters, Nancy Dollar (Larry) and children, Elaine, John, Ben and Elizabeth, and Sara Lester (Brian) and children, Mason and Miles. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with The Three Trees Inc. - A Center for Grieving Children and Their Families, 7309 E. 21st, Ste. 240, Wichita, 67226 and Eastminster Presbyterian Church Choir Fund, 1958 N. Webb, Wichita, 67206. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

  4. Harriett, Darlene and I were sad to be called today and told of Fred’spassing. I know Darlene saw Bruce when she was passing through Wichita several weeks ago and told me about Fred’s medical difficulties. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
