  1. My sincere condolences to the Hattan family on the passing of your dear friend and cherished family member. Also to the Friesen family, I would like to tell you briefly of my wonderful experience with the great Dr. Stanley Friesen. In December 1953, Dr. Friesen performed lung surgery on me the day before my first birthday. I had malignant lung cancer and the lower lobe of my right lung was removed. I’ve always been assured that through the expert hands and knowledge (even then) that Dr. Friesen had and the miracles from the Lord, I have truly been blessed. I just celebrated my 57th birthday this past December and attribute my well being and longevity to Dr. Stanley Friesen and his staff members during that time. I know of his passing, but wanted to express my feelings as a heart felt tribute to a good man. Please make contact with me, I would love to tell you more.

  2. Dear Freida Barbara Jo, and your families: Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. What wonderful memories we can share! Marjorie Patrick Arnold

  3. Uncle Garland was the most interesting person I’ve ever known. I think he knew something like 10 languages, or that’s how it always seemed to me as a kid. I’m thankful for the long life he was able to live with his family. He always had a smile and a squeeze of the hand for everyone he loved. I’m going to miss him as I know so many other people will.

  4. Garland, or Gramps, as we knew him, was the kindest, sweetest, gentle man. We were so blessed to have known him through our daughter-in-law, Katie. He is God’s example of how we should live our lives.

  5. Hello Family of Garland, I feel so fortunate that I got to talk to Garland that Sunday that our East Heights choir honored him by doing a concert for the Larksfield residents in the dining room of the nursing home part. He and Freida were very alert and receptive to greetings from any and all of us. I got to speek to them both. Always, Garland and Freida and their family have been good friends and faithful advocates of Christ. My family and I have always felt your endearing friendship. We will remember Garland always interested in the good for others and his family, always smiling, always caring and thank God for his life! In Christ’s love, Tricia Hanning and Family
