Gayle (Ferril) Allison

Allison, Gayle (Ferril), 90, “a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ”, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011. Visitation with family and friends will be 5:00 ~ 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East, 6555 E. Central, Wichita. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 21, at Woodridge Christian Church, 12111 E. 13th Wichita. Heaven received a treasure when Gayle arrived to meet her Lord and Savior face to face. Her life exemplified unconditional love and selfless service. She never spoke an unkind word about anybody. Gayle was born March 19, 1921 in Amorita, OK, grew up on a farm there, attended Chillicothe Business College in MO. She worked as a secretary at Boeing and Beech Aircraft for many years. She taught 5th grade Sunday school for over 60 years, influencing countless children with her faith and love. Preceded by Charles Y. Allison, Jr., parents, Harry Ferril and Grace Ferril Atkison, step-father, Earl Atkison and step-sisters, Joye Durant and Ruth Neathery. Survivors: daughter Jean (John) Northup, son, Kirk (Karen) Allison; grandchildren, Ryan and Lindie Northup; brother, Paul (Betty) Ferril; twin brother, Dale Ferril; sister, Jessie (Joe) Fulgham; step-sister, Reba Angle; numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Gayle was one of the nicest people I have ever known….a truly Christian lady. She took me under her wing when I started work at Beechcraft, and helped me get a good start. Then we had babies about the same time! She was a very dear person. I know your families will miss her very much.
Jean and Kirk, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. It seems like just yesterday that I saw her at Eddy Bryants funeral. I was shocked to see her obituary in the paper. Please know that Laura (Oehlert) and I are praying for you and your family during this time of loss.
Jean, I saw your mother’s obituary in the morning paper and I know you must be sad and rejoicing at the same time. I just can’t imagine the joy of being in Heaven for eternity. You will always have a special place in my heart and I just wanted you to know I’m thinking of you and your family.
