Gerald (Jerry) Bernard Scholler, died September 8, 2016 in Wichita, KS. Born July 2,1924 in Strong City, Kansas to John and Loretta Scholler. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1942. Enlisted in the Army and briefly served in the 61st Armored Division before being transferred to the Army Air Corp with the 516th Bomber Squadron until 1946. After college, he married Myeerah Darlene “Dee” Ferguson, also of El Dorado, and for 54 years made their home in Wichita, Kansas until her death in 2003, they were always happiest while dancing. Jerry was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Scholler. His sister-in-law, Billie Lou Dunagan Scholler survives him, as does his sister, Mary Margaret Shields (Fred) and family living in Lenexa, Kansas and remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews. Jerry and Myeerah raised six children in their residence on South Dellrose; all six survive their father, 2 daughters and 4 sons-Jana Rea (Ed), Rhonda Mann (David), Mark Scholler (Sheryl), Tom Scholler, Jim Scholler, John Scholler, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Jerry was known for his outgoing personality as a top salesman in the food industry, with John Sexton Company for 25 years, Cox Produce and Ray Sales. In lieu of flowers, the family has established memorials in their fathers name with Catholic Care Center, 6700 E. 45th St. N., Wichita, KS 67226 and Kansas Food Bank, 1919 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67211. Visitation with Jerrys family will be from 6:00 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Private Family Services will be held.
