  1. Jerry took the time to show me all of his tree farm and land when I asked him to do so and took joy in it even though it took up a great deal of his time.. He was full of zest for life and willing to share his wisdom and experiences with those around him.. He was generous and kind and I enjoyed greatly the time I spent talking with him and learning form him. He left behind him two Men that I am honored to know and now be related to,, who are as generous and kind as he was, John and David Pike ( son and grandson) and I am proud to have the honor of having Dave as my son in law.. To the both of you, I share your grief in your family’s loss.. Jerry was a good man and role model ! May God grant you peace of mind and the understanding that Jerry lives on in the both of you and everyone he touched in his travels thru the universal mind..The world was a better place because of Jerry being in it.. God bless You all…

  2. I have 6 trees in my yard given to me by my Father, Royce Wallace, 11 years ago when I built my home that came from Gerry’s tree farm in Douglass. They are beuatiful, and we will be reminded of Gerry every time we look at them. My husband spent several hours with Gerry, and thought he was a wonderful person, and a privilege to know him. I know my Father will miss him terribly. Our thoughts are with all of you at this sad time.

  3. Dear John, I was so sorry to learn of your father’s passing. I hope your mother is doing well. My prayers are with you and your family at this time. Sincerely, Jane Dooley

  4. I have never taken life for granted and niether did Jerry. I never was not able to spend a lot of time with him but when I did he was always full of stories and great advice. To this day I continue to contemplate his wise advice. He set the pace, made good a long list of things to do and each day got after it early. He always had a plan and manual labor was his friend. In the dictionary you will find his picture in many places but for me I see him under ‘FRIEND’. I always enjoyed a good long visit with Jerry. I didn’t have to talk much, but when we parted ways, I always had a smile on my face. Many people believe Jerry had a tree farm in Butler County but let the truth be known, it was a deer farm and he raised some whoppers. Thank you Jerry and John for allowing me to roam the farm for so many years. May you Ruby, John, Kathy, Jane, the grand children and all the extended family receive comfort today from our Lord and Saviour. We really love you all. Robb & Jan Glendening, Muskogee, OK

  5. Rest Gerald, until you hear at dawn, the low, clear reveille of God. Thank you for your service to this nation. U.S. Army, WWII.
