Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Bless her heart. She was so kind. A great instructor. I had the privilege to have Mrs Steiner as my surgical instructor when I was in nursing school at St Joseph School of Nursing. I loved those days. They were very special. So was Mrs Steiner. Now she will be with Al. He was a special one, too. He was actually the first person I met when I started working at St Joe. Met him in the coffee shop old St Joe. Rest in peace Mrs Steiner. You are the Best.

  2. Dwight,

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your mother. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. 🙏🏽

Losing a parent is an immeasurable loss, and I hope you find comfort in the love and memories you shared with her.

Wishing you and your family strength and peace in the days ahead. 🙏🏽🕊️🕊️

  3. Gerri was one of my favorite people. I considered her my “other mother”. We worked together in Altar Society for many years. I know she is at peace now with her Al. ❤️🙏🏻

  4. Sending love, peace, comfort and strength as you celebrate your mom’s life and legacy. What a life she lived a true steward of this world, leaving behind generations of goodness. May her memory continue to be a blessing. Your Public Sector Contracts Team 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

  5. I met Gerry when my parents lived at Georgetown, and we visited often. When my mother moved to Catholic Care center, she lived down the hall. She was an intelligent, giving woman who impacted many lives. My condolences.

  6. Mrs. Steiner was my operating room instructor in nursing school. I thanked her many times sad I used those skills in my nursing career. Condolences to her family. She definitely had a “servant’s heart.” Jeanne Hommertzheim Blasi ‘67

  7. Gerry was a great person. I was lucky to have her as an instructor in nursing school and also be related to her. She and Al were always the very best. I’m glad they are reunited in heaven and pray for comfort for you, Dwight.

  8. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & caring with so many of us! Nursing is a wonderful Profession! Jane (Hainsworth) Norris SMPC Class of 1981

  9. Dear Gerry! She was one of the Great Ones. Always ready to do what was needed. She knew the history of St. Joseph Hospital as no other as she lived much of it. She was an inspiration to me and many others. May she rest in peace.

  10. Geri- You will be remembered as a dedicated professional who gave much to advance the profession of nursing as a nursing Instructor. Proud to have been a colleague. Joan Melzer

  11. I knew Gerri as one of the Magdalen women always serving at funerals and then at Via Christi as an Auxiliarian with a heart of gold. She always had a smile and a deep faith. May you be rejoicing with your Creator. Peace,

  12. Dwight and family, Please know our sorrow in your mother’s passing. When I met her in 2017, it became obvious that she was such a dedicated lady in her daily life’s activities….Sewing 101, her church involvement and attending daily Mass , her caring for neighbors and especially, her love of her family. She will always hold a place in my heart and memory as a cherished friend. Linda and David Garrison

  13. Geri was my nursing instructor in the 80s. She was wonderful. Always supportive, never stern. Sweet as my own Grandma. Thank you Mrs Steiner 💜

  14. So sorry for your loss and ours….She got me involved in Sewing 101 at St. Joe….Saw her at a recuitement fair one year and she asked if I sewed…Well. I am still sewing for the hospitals..What a beautiful lady and so faithful to her faith….Lovely person>

  15. Gerry Steiner was a wonderful nurse, teacher, mentor and role model. Always positive and full of energy she guided many a nursing student through the operating rooms and surgical floors. She had a way about her that immediately made you feel confident and comfortable.
Heaven gained an extraordinary angel in Gerry.
    Gina Stadig Delamaide
    BSN 1981 SMPC

  16. Gerry was my mom’s cousin. I remember going to her home with Mom where she showed us all the sewing projects she was making to donate to the hospital. She would always share some of her fabric for my mom’s quilts that she donated to the Children’s Home. Gerry reminded me of a hummingbird. She always had so much energy! My sincerest condolences to the family for the loss of this lovely lady. May she rest in peace in God’s loving presence.
