Lietz, Gilbert “Gil” N., 86, died Saturday, February 22, 2014. Rosary will be at 6:30 P.M., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Downing Lahey East Mortuary; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 27, 2014, at All Saints Catholic Church; Inurnment will follow at 2:00 P.M., at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, in Winfield, KS. Gil spent 2 years in the Victoria School District and 32 years in the Wichita School District (East High School) as an Industrial Arts Coordinator and Teacher. During that time he was awarded “Industrial Arts Teacher of the Year” for the state of Kansas. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Albert and Leo. Survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Richard J. (Catherine) Lietz of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Suzanne (Andrew) Hatfield of Brewster, KS; sister, Lucy Hertel of Hays, KS; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Memorials have been established with All Saints Catholic Church, 3205 E. Grand St., Wichita, KS 67218; Alzheimers Association, Central and Western Kansas Chapter, 1820 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67214.
