Hembrough, Gladys, 90 died in her daughters home under the care of Hospice of Reno County, Wednesday, February 21, 2007. Graveside service 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 26, Old Mission Cemetery. Gladys was born December 26, 1916 to Alvin and Hannah Futhey in Hunter, OK. She was retired from Complete Landscaping and also worked for Eddys Toyota Steven Corporate offices, Specialty Mill Works and The YWCA as a bookkeeper. Gladys was the first women to work in the Boeing Aircraft machine shop in 1944, operating an engine lathe. Gladys was involved with Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts, Achievers 4-H Club, PTA at Mammoth Cave School and was past President of the National Bookkeepers Society. Preceded in death by mother and father, husband, Ralph “Bud” Hembrough, 7 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 great-grandchild. Survived by daughter, Kay Hembrough of Hutchinson; son, John Hembrough of Buhler; grandchildren, Tony Morgan of Douglass, Tim Morgan of Haysville, Traci Seeney of Park City, Yvonne Durham and Melissa Hembrough of Beaumont, TX; 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with Hospice of Reno County, Home Care of Hutchinson, 3 Compound Dr., Hutchinson, KS, 67502. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
