Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I’ll always remember Glo years back in her racing suit, getting ready to race in her Nova, ‘Hypurr,’ or her little self driving down the street in her big car with the ‘CINSUN’ license plate. She’s a wonderful person to know and like others have said, she lit up a room and was a pistol, a true sweetheart who was totally devoted to her husband and son, and so proud of all of them. I didn’t see her as much in recent years, but have always felt blessed to have known her & have been a friend. Many prayers to Jerry, Todd & family, and everyone else who knew and loved her.

  2. Glo was the ‘fun’ mom I never had-she was so full of kindness & smiles-karaoke will most definatly never be the same. Thoughts are with you Jerry!

  3. We lived across the pasture from the Mercers when we were just kids and went on through high school together. Even though I haven’t seen Gloria for many years, I will never forget her or her family and the good times that we had. She was a good friend and I loved her. My only regret is that we didn’t stay in touch. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Jerry, Paula and the rest of her family.

  4. I will never forget Irene typing a report for me when I was in high school and she was a legal secretary. She would do anything for anybody even if it meant a sacrifice for her. I have seen her the last 4-5 years at Neewollah and her smile and the twinkle in her eye will be missed more than I can say. She is one of those amazing people that made life better for having known her. Neewollah will never pass without thoughts of Irene and I will miss her greatly. Her husband and son will be in my prayers.

  5. Glo and I shared the same sense of humor. Our phone conversations were always full of laughter. I had a working relationship with Glo for many years and I will miss her terribly.

  6. Gloria Irene and I were best friends in Junior High School in Independence. I was Linda Hall then and even shorter than Irene, as we knew her. I loved her then and am sorry to hear of her passing. Our parents were best friends for many, many years.

  7. Gloria Irene – I knew you in Independence, Kansas; Paula and I were friends in high school. I knew and loved you when our babies were tiny; my Raegan and your Todd. A light has truly gone out in the world. You were such a funny sweet and sincere friend. When you married Jerry and went to Wichita, we lost touch. Just know my blessing goes with you.

  8. Jerry, Todd and family: It was with great sadness that I read in the Eagle this past week of Gloria’s passing. She was a lot of fun to work with…she was so spunky and so full of life…there was never a dull moment when Gloria was around. I was lucky to have known her. I want to wish you the best in the coming year and I know Gloria will live on in our memories. Take care.

  9. Gloria Irene……I knew you by Irene…way back in school in Independence, KS. We had so many good times and you were always so sunny and fun….always. Jerry, I just ask God to bring peace and healing to you and your family…I know this is really hard. Love and prayers for all of you. See you one of these days, Irene….love you.

  11. Glo, you will be missed by all of your sisters in L.O.S we will never forget you. You have a very special spot in my heart. I will never forget you. Your little sis and SASSY SEAHORSE. LOVE TRISH

  12. To Irene’s family…..This is Phyllis (Barnes) Prentice. I was a friend and classmate of Irene’s growing up in Independence, KS. Irene was always so sunny and bright and a joy to be with. I have so many good memories of us together. I am so very sorry to learn of her death, and extend my condolences to all of her family.

  13. To her friends at Hite Fanning, she had many names. Gloria, Glo, G-Low, and after the birth of my daughter, Grannie Glo. She was also called ‘a good friend’. On my first day at Hite Fanning, Glo immediately made me feel welcome. She was so friendly, but also very ornery. I can say she brought out the orneriness and silliness in me for sure. A couple of months after I began working with Glo, we decided to carry on a tradition that was started between Janice Friedman and Scott Hill. When either was out for vacation or such, they would do something to the others office. So, with Janices permission, Glo and I decided to have a little fun when Scott left for vacation. We completely cleared out his office – took all books, pictures, personal items, everything except a pair of his glasses and a banana that he had left. We put the banana on his empty desk and placed the glasses on it. When he returned to work, he had no office. Of course Glo and I felt guilty and helped him put it all back together. She was ornery, but also kind. I will truly miss that twinkle in her eyes. I love you and will miss you, Glo.

  14. Gloria and I were good friends in highschool. My name was Genny Cooper in school. We graduated together in 1962. I have many, many fun memories of our younger years. When I had my daughter she used to stop by every morning on her way to the lawyer’s office where she worked. Gloria was always full of life and had a smile on her face. She will be missed by all her friends and family. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  15. Glo was a delight to know and a great LOS sister! I will always remember the fun we had at the LOS Grand Council in Casper, Wyoming this year. My prayers go out to her family at this time. She will be remembered fondly.

  16. Hey Glo, I’ve been talking to you. (I hope you’ve been listening.) I’m happy to have had the opportunity to know you. You were so funny and honery. I am sad to come to work now because you won’t be here at the office. I just didn’t expect that to happen. So, I say goodbye to you for now, until we meet again. Love, Pat Colby

  17. I enjoyed Glo as a co-worker and friend all the years she was with Fleeson, Gooing. She was always upbeat and fun. She will truly be missed by all the lives she has touched. My sincere sympathy to Jerry and all her family. May God bring you comfort and peace.

  18. God Bless our Glo I know she is in heaven looking down making fun of her sappy friends. I’m going to miss our lunch outings especially her driving skills in the parking garage. I’m also going to miss her great hugs and kisses she was a true friend with a huge heart. Love you Glo! God Bless you Jerry and family.

  19. Jerry, we are so sorry for your loss. We will remember Gloria fondly. We will be thinking about you and regret that we will miss the service because we will be out of town.

  20. Such a fun person, so full of energy and optimism. She will not be forgotten, her love and spirit will be with us always. Our thoughts are with Jerry and family in this time of mourning.

  21. Glo, A lady with such a lust for life, you sure lit up the room when you walked in! Always so funny and also so nice to everyone. You will be greatly missed by us all. God bless you!

  22. Glo, you will always be my special ‘hayrake’. I did not know you long but you touched my heart with your kindness, laughter and basic all around goodness. You will be greatly missed by all the lives you touched. Jerry (Pooh Bear) you are in my thoughts and prayers and may God give you strength to get through this time of loss and sorrow. Lynne Cooper, LOS, Independence, MO

  23. Our little Hayrake friend will be missed by all who knew her. Our thoughts and prayers to Pooh-Bear and the family. Remember you also have Family in Independence, Missouri who are here anytime. Glo touched all our lives and we are better for having her as a friend.

  24. God Bless family and friends. She was a special person and a wonderful friend to us all. Her loving and cheerful giving will live on forever.
