Greta Alice Ibarra

Greta Alice Ibarra, 78, died Friday, March 10, 2017. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 17, 2017, at All Saints Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband, J. Luis Ibarra; parents, James Vincent and Mildred Shirley Collins. Survived by her brother, James G. "Rip" Collins of Dallas, TX; sister, Dolores (Jim) Casey of Wichita, KS; children, Collins Michael Ibarra of Texas, Elizabeth Ibarra of Azle, TX, Lou (Kris) Ibarra, Ted (Tami) Ibarra, Pat (Tami) Ibarra, all of Wichita, KS, Paul (Kathy) Ibarra of Newton, KS, Michael John Ibarra of Azle, TX; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Greta graduated from Wichita St. Joseph School of Nursing on June 27, 1975 as a Registered Nurse. Prior to that, she worked in banking for 7 years, and worked as the Medical Administrator for Wesley Medical Center. She worked as a psychiatric nurse for 20 years, 18 of those at St. Joseph. Following that, she continued to work at St. Joseph as a psycho-educational group leader until her retirement. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
