Klein, H. Jean (Stewart, Freeman, Bonnell), 86, Executive Secretary and Realtor, died Sunday, March 16, 2014. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 21, 2014, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Memorial Service will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 22, 2014, at First United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Harrie and Ethel Stewart; sisters, Beth Fahnestock, Merial Stewart. Survived by her husband, Terry Klein of Wichita, KS; children, Jan (Del) Fogg of Arlington, TX, Diane Coco of San Antonio, TX, Carol (Keith) Marcum of Mustang, OK; step-daughter, Jennifer (Randy) Maddux of Derby, KS; step-son, Lee (Danielle) Klein, of Collegeville, PA; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. She loved pets - especially cats (Peter Gunn, Job, Putter). Loved to golf - Ladies Team Play until age 79, had 7 holes-in-one, learned from Arnold Palmers book (on sand greens), great putter and chipper. She loved to play bridge; anything to see and do in Colorado and New Mexico. Great trout fisherwoman - caught first one, biggest one, and the most fish. Former member of Executive Women International - local chairwoman who invited astronaut Charlie Duke to be a guest speaker after his 1972 moon walk. Got Vickers Petroleum to okay the ladies trip to Hawaii. Great cook with lots of cookbooks. Loved to travel all over US and Canada for conventions with Terry. Made over 50 photo albums of their trips and 7 more of grandkids and great-grandkids. Especially enjoyed trips to New York City and Albuquerque with 3 daughters in past 8 years. Great party host with decorations galore. Pinnacle was a Christmas Tree decorated with Teddy Bears - all own outfits. A terrific gift giver - always a unique surprise. Started water color classes in 1999 and got really good. Always had a “green thumb,” when we got married, moved 75 pots into our home. When we moved 12 years later into our new house, we moved 100 plants. The flower bed is lined 144 rocks from all over the country. A prolific tree planter as we planted over 150 trees in the past 29 years (cedars and blue spruces). RIP. A memorial has been established with the Society For The Advancement of Manufacturing, 450 Herschel, Wichita, KS 67209.
