I am deeply sad to hear of Mrs. Hardins passing. What an inspiration she was to me when I was in 7th grade–Sherman Junior High-(Hutchinson,Ks.)-she was my mentor and sewing teacher and friend. I am 48 yrs. old now and still think of her while in my sewing room, and continue to use her wise advice and tips. She taught with warmth and laughter and kindness. I want to share my first sewing project with you–that I did in her class…I vividly remember her smacking her forehead with her hand and the face she made when I came to class(beginners class) with the most beautiful gold lame’ material(disco era) and a jacket pattern. Hard material to work with but–nevertheless, she and I created the most gorgeous jacket ever and I wore it till it was threadbare ! What a great person she was to us kids going through the rocky transition of pre-teens to adulthood ! I am so glad she IS a part of my life. I pray you find peace and comfort in your heart during this time. God bless you.
Francie, So sorry to hear about your mother. I too lost a parent recently, my farther passed April 28th of this year and there is not a day that goes by without him in my thoughts, I truly do miss him. As long as life and memories are, we must remember no one will ever fill their vacant place, we must cherish those memories for its all we have. Sincere sympathy to you and all your family.
Dear Francie and Family, I have great memories of your Mom and her years at Sherman.A strong woman ahead of her time. She always remembered people even years later. My sympathies and blessings to you on her passing.
Mrs. Hardin was one of my favorite teachers. I know she touched many lives over the years. Hopefully your family will find comfort and peace from the good memories.
I absolutely adored Mrs. Hardin as a teacher. She taught us all so much more than just sewing . She was a one of a kind person with a heart as big as the sky . She will forever be missed. My deepest sympathies to her family .
To Francie, the Hardin Family and Friends, I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Hardin. She touched many hearts and souls in Hutchinson. She gave many students hope when there was none, she taught many students skills who believed they couldn’t learn, she gave food to those who were hungry. She gave me guidance and support throughout my years at Sherman, Hutch High and Huch JUCO. She was a master at laughter and knew how to share it as she did frequently. She taught us before and after school willingly and never complained. She touched so many of our lives and we are all grateful. Thank you for sharing Mrs. Hardin with us all for those 89 years. We will cherish every moment and every memory of her always and forever. Much Love and Thanks, Bismark Irving
I was so deeply saddened to see this-Mrs. Hardin was one of my favorite teachers. She was so very, very kind and such a fun person to be around. I couldnt sew to save my life, so she let me make like, a million pillows and run errands for my grade!…She was always so supportive and had a wonderful sense of humor. What a wonderful teacher and person to have graced our lives. God bless all of her family, and her wonderful spirit…
I’d like to express my sincerest condolences. There are no words that I can say that can adequately comfort one in times such as these. However, Gods word the bible gives us comfort and hope. In Revelation 21:4, Jehovah God promises to get rid of all death, suffering, mourning, and he will wipe all tears from our eyes. Jehovah promises to bring back our loved ones in the resurrection. Jesus said that ‘all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Jesus] voice and come out.’ (John 5:28, 29 NWT) May these scriptures comfort you at this hard time.
Francie I am sorry for your loss.
