Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. So sorry to read that Pastor Keiler passed away! I remember him from 1st UMC in El Dorado. I have many fond memories of him! Prayers for the family and friends!

  2. Harold was such a warm, compassionate person. And his leadership in churches and the Conference was filled with vision, attention to current realities and strategies for future endeavors. He was a role model for me in my ministry. Prayers for his family as they walk through this time of grief.

  3. Harold was my pastor my senior year at Southwestern College, serving Grace Methodist, which was the college church in Winfield. So ten years later, I was appointed to serve Grace. Harold was always in my life and we enjoyed seeing each other at annual conference and other events where United Methodist ministers show up. He was always a champion for justice and I credit him for instilling that passion in me. Peace to you my brother. Jim Reed

  4. So sorry to read of the death of Harold Keiler. He was so kind to my family at a time when my husband Don Swender was very ill. Harold was a wonderful pastor and person.

  5. My, what love and admiration for Rev. Kieler I shared with my husband, Clint. Nearly 40 years ago, Harold officiated at our beautiful wedding at FUMC, in El Dorado. Prior to that, we had met him weekly for two months of pre-marital counseling. I was marrying my best friend and had true confidence in our future. Nonetheless, Harold’s wisdom and spiritual guidance had such a positive impact on our marriage. I will always be grateful for that. I send my prayers and love to his family as they gather for comfort and to celebrate a life so well-lived.

  6. Harold was a friend to everyone whom he encountered.

His infectious smile & humor were among his many attributes.

When I arrived at Grace UMC in 1996…he was present for my 2nd Sunday.

Harold was always cheering me on.

His legacy will be remembered by many.

  8. Harold was always attuned to the needs of ministry whatever the time. He was a warm presence with an overarching concern for justice, and he was always a voice worth listening to on the floor of Annual Conference.

  9. Harold was a charter trustee of United Methodist Health Ministry Fund. My years with him there are filled with wonderful memories of Harold–his wise counsel, clear faith and personal warmth. He continued to be interested in the Fund after leaving his term of service. He had a quick mind and innate curiosity about many, many things in our world. I thank God for the gift of his life.
