Harold Gene Swaney

Harold Gene Swaney November 9, 1923 February 28, 2017, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Swaney was, a retired City of Wichita District Fire Chief who served proudly for over thirty years, and was a World War II veteran. Mr. Swaney is survived by his spouse, Susan A. Swaney; siblings, LaWanda Stratton of Wyoming and Richard Dale Swaney of Kansas City; his children, Thomas G. Swaney of Indiana, Timothy M. Swaney of New York, James H. Swaney of Arizona, and Melodie A. Reimer of Wichita. In addition, he leaves to cherish his memory are nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Mr. Swaneys arrangements have been entrusted to Downing Lahey East Mortuary. Cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration will be held in the near future.
