Helen Gail (Miller) Siegrist

Siegrist, Helen Gail (Miller), 90, teacher and musician, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Rosary 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Andover. Helen was born in El Dorado, KS on November 20, 1919 to Loren and Fern (Hedges) Miller. She attended and graduated from El Dorado Schools and El Dorado Junior College. Helen taught at Murdock Country School #25 near Benton, KS from 1939-1941. She also taught private piano lessons at her home in Rose Hill for over 35 years. Helen married John William “Bill” Siegrist on November 7, 1941 in El Dorado. He preceded her in death in 1997. She is survived by her younger sister, Joanne Rickerson, daughters, Sharon (Yoshi) Obata of Miami, FL, Sandra (John) Heidebrecht of Wichita and Susie (Merle) Patterson of El Dorado; sons, Sam (Sally) Siegrist of Salina, Stuart (Alice) Siegrist of Hutchinson and John (Roxann) Siegrist of Belle Plaine; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
