Helen Hill Siddy Riley

Riley, Helen Hill “Siddy,” After 95 years on this earth, Helen Riley passed to “a sweet repose” on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 11, 2015; Funeral Service will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 12, 2015, both at Downing Lahey East Mortuary. Born in Anthony, KS, November 20, 1919 to Luther Allen Hill and Hesta (Patterson) Hill, Helen moved to Wichita as a young child. She was a graduate in the Class of 1937 at Wichita East High School. She became a legal secretary and worked first for Harold Malone. Later, Helen became secretary for Mark H. Adams, Sr., founder of the Adams and Jones law firm, and worked for him over 30 years. In 1942, she married Rex Riley. They were together for 62 years until his death in 2005. Helen was a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church from its origin, often working in the nursery there. In addition, she was a former president of the Wichita chapter of the Legal Secretarys Association, and a former president of Southwestern Petro, Inc. Preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Allen Hill. She is survived by two sons, Rex Allen Riley of Wichita, Kim Riley (wife, Peggy) of Manhattan, KS; granddaughter, Jimilee Rempe (husband, Tony); grandson, Sean Riley; great-granddaughter, Andi Jo Rempe - Helens most recent joy. She was a wonderful mother to us and we will miss her cleverness, sweetness, and great sense of humor.
