Helen M. Richardson

Richardson, Helen, M., 81, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013. Visitation with family is 6-8 pm Monday and funeral service is 10:00 am Tuesday at Downing and Lahey West Mortuary, followed by a 3:00 pm graveside service at the Fairview Cemetery in Greensburg, KS. She was born and raised in Coldwater, KS, graduating from Coldwater High School in 1950 and receiving an Associates Degree from Kelsey-Baird Secretarial School in Spokane, WA. She retired from the Wichita Public School System in 1992 after 25 years of service. She is preceded in death by her infant daughter Linda Rae; mother, Geneva Purcell, father, Ben Purcell and a brother Ray Purcell. Survivors include her husband Glenn; daughters, Debra (Dale) Coffman of Wichita, Karla (Michael) Wong of Sand Springs, OK; siblings; Ellen Erwin, Ralph and Roy Purcell; five granddaughters, Nicole, Angela, Amy, Jordan and Jenna; two step-grandsons, Kris and Adam; 7 great-grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Amedisys Hospice Care, 250 W. Douglas, S-101, Wichita, KS 67202.
