Helen R. Barnes

Helen R. Barnes, 99, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, Friday, June 21, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Graveside Service will follow at 12:00 pm, Friday, June 21, 2024, at Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado, KS. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Blanche Ludwig; her beloved husband, Melvin "Mel" Barnes; step-daughter, Linda Loose; sisters, Jean Frisbie and Carol Karlowski. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Nancy) Bystrom of O'Fallon, MO and Ronald Bystrom of Riveria Beach, FL; her brother, Ronald "Bunk" Ludwig of Florence, KS; 4 grandchildren; 2-step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
