Henry Eugene Sturdivant, 81, was called home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 30, 2021. A devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and caring friend to many. Born in Karnack, TX to Jesse Boone and Mary Ann (Wooten) Sturdivant on December 12, 1939. He graduated from Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, TX in 1958. Later Henry enlisted in the United States Air Force where he met his wife, Patty Andes. On December 29, 1962 he and Patty married. Together they raised a son, Steven Eugene Sturdivant. Henry worked for NCR from July 1963 to December 2000. Henry enjoyed spending precious time with his family, and expanding his knowledge in technology. He was passionate about the great state of Texas and his belief in Jesus. May he forever be known for his quirky humor, contagious smile and loving and kind spirit. Henry is survived by his wife, Patty; son, Steven and wife, Karen; granddaughter, Tatum Reed and husband, Cody; grandson, Quincent, all of Wichita, KS; sisters, Ellen Stockstill, Ruby Daphine Cooper and husband, Randy Cooper all of Kaufman, TX; brother-in-law, Jalel Abbas of Dallas, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Abbas and brother, Jesse Carl. Visitation will be from 7:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, July 2, 2021, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 3, 2021, at East Point Church of Christ. A memorial has been established with: East Point Church of Christ, 747 N. 127th St. E., Wichita, KS 67206.

    • Gene and I sat side by side in the high band and the ROTC band at Crozier Tech High school in Dallas. We have always been friends, almost brothers. We had good times together. I will miss him.. To Patty, I just found out about his passing as the funeral service started. If I had known I would have been there. God bless you Patty and God bless my friend Gene. The Lord Jesus Christ will take our Gene under his arm and show him all the beauties of heaven while he waits for you. With love, Bill
