Hy Truong

Hy Thi Truong, 90, entered eternal rest on July 14, 2025, at her home in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Nam Dinh, Vietnam on March 10, 1935. In 1956 she married Huyen Tran, with whom she raised eight children, and immigrated to America in 1992. She loved to cook, garden, spend time with family, and attend mass at her parish, St. Anthony. Hy will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Hy is survived by her husband, Huyen; brother, To, and sister, My; her children and their spouses, Manh (Dung), Bao (Huong), Vinh (Chau), Hien (Diem), Doat (Duc), Dieu (Lan), Kim Anh (Chuong), and Kim Chi (Tom); twenty-two grandchildren, Michelle (spouse Thanh), Lan, Uyen (spouse Tommy), Christina, Vanessa, Theresa, Brian, Robert, Stephanie, Chelsea, Kate, Tracy, Jessica, John, Randy, Lyna, Jason, Amy, Daniel, Justin, Fae, and Kenny; two great-granddaughters, Celine and Elaine (of Uyen and Tommy); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded by her father, Huong Truong, and mother, Vy Pham; brothers, Cuong and Phong; and granddaughter, Jamie (of Doat and Duc).

All loved ones are invited to reminisce and honor the life of Hy with a rosary on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Viewing hours are from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service is on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
