J. Patrick Houlihan

J. Patrick Houlihan, 77, passed away September 10, 2012. He was the son of Patrick V. Houlihan and Georgia (Whitt) Houlihan. Pat was a graduate of Ripon High School and the University of Wisconsin. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. Pat is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy (Jenz); son and daughter-in-law, S. Patrick and Joey Houlihan; and sister, Jane A. Houlihan of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He is also survived by his aunt. Mary Kritser of Yorkville, Illinois and many cousins. Pat spent 49 years in the catalog industry. He was one of the original catalog management associates at The Penney Company in New York City and Sheplers in Wichita, Kansas. These were special times for Pat because of the close associations he fostered. Pat was generous, thoughtful and strong. He was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father and a wonderful man. He played baseball throughout his younger years and enjoyed all sports. He had a particular passion for The Wichita State Shockers, the University of Wisconsin Badgers, the Green Bay Packers and the Ripon Tigers. Pat was renowned for sending letters and articles of interest via mail to friends and family. He also enjoyed attending Broadway shows in New York City and concerts featuring 50s and 60s music. Per Pats wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A reception will be held at Sedgwick Plaza in Wichita, Kansas on Friday, September 14th at 3:30 PM. A graveside ceremony will be held Saturday, September 22nd, at 1:30 PM at St. Patrick Cemetery in Ripon, Wisconsin. A luncheon will follow.
