Jack R. Jones

Jack R. Jones, age 92, of Wichita, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Regent Park. Born July 30, 1924, in Fort Scott, Kansas, Jack grew up with his brothers and sister in several eastern Kansas towns. He graduated from Ottawa High School, served in the U.S. Navy, then attended Kansas State College in Manhattan, Kansas, to study architecture, where he met and fell in love with Margaret Ricklefs. They married on August 29, 1948, in Salina, Kansas, and settled in Wichita, where he practiced architecture. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and William, and his wife of 66 years, Margaret. Survivors include his sister, Phyllis Irene (Jones) Lewis, of Cary, North Carolina; sons, J. Russell Jones (Bev), Mark D. Jones (Vicki), and Jeffrey R. Jones (Catherine); four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, at 11:00 a.m., at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1101 N River Blvd, Wichita.
