Jack W. Schul

Jack W. Schul, 86, died Sunday, September 18, 2016. Funeral Service will be at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, September 22, 2016, at University Congregational Church. Born in Grenola, KS to Clarence and Loma Schul on May 20, 1930. His parents moved the family to Wichita, KS where Jack graduated from Plainview High School in 1948. He honorably served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged. Returning to Wichita to work 36 years for Southwestern Bell and retiring from AT&T in December of 1988. Jack attained the degree of a Master Mason in 1959, and served as Master in 1965. Jack and his wife, Jeri, enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, visiting all 48 continental states and Europe. Jack was an active member of Broadway Christian Church and later University Congregational Church. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles; nephews, Frankie and Robert. Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeri (Haug) Schul of the home; nieces and nephews, Richard (Ye Sun) Schul of Derry, NH, Raymond (Dorothy) Schul of Wilmington, NC, Peggy (John) Biever of Las Vegas, NV, Dewey (Kaylene) Haug of Valley Center, KS, Jana (Jim) Linnebur of Colwich, KS, Linda Haug Gearhart of Corvallis, OR; as well as a host of other family and friends.
