Jack William Van Sickle

Jack William Van Sickle, age 94, went to be with our Lord on May 26, 2024. He was born on December 3, 1929, to Lester Van Sickle and Bertye Townsend. For 4 years, Jack enlisted in the Korean War/ Navy.He married Dolores Lorraine Dunlap, while in the Navy on March 25, 1953. After his military career, he was employed by Missouri Pacific Railroad/ Union Pacific as an Electrician in North Little Rock, AR. He later moved to Wichita, KS where he was a General Foreman for the railroad. He loved family, gardening, reading, backpacking, traveling, square dancing, and watching baseball.Dolores passed away on March 29, 1976, age 43. A few days before her passing, the hospital gave Jack and Dolores a 25-year wedding anniversary cake.On October 14, 1978, Jack married Bonnie A. Ford. He met both Dolores and Bonnie at dances.Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Bertye Van Sickle.Survivors include sisters, Betsy Emmenegger, Annette Amann; brother, Bob Van Sickle; son, Ronald Van Sickle and wife, Julie Van Sickle; daughter, Lorraine Van Sickle Ficarra and husband, Mike; daughter, Linda Van Sickle Hudlin; son, Timothy Ford and wife, Brenda; daughter, Gayla Ford Bryant. He has 6 grandchildren, Audra (Van Sickle) Morgan, Daniel Van Sickle, April Hudlin, Joshua Ford, Jason Ford, and Jenny Ford. Jack has several great-grandchildren.Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, June 3, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
