Shanks, Jacquelin, 65, former post office mail sorter, passed away, Friday, February 24, 2012. The memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 29, at Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Survivors: sons, Corey Shanks and Brian Shanks, both of Wichita; brothers, Robert L. Schmidt of Hays, KS, Vernon Schmidt of Catharine, KS and Darrell Schmidt of Ajijic, Mexico; granddaughter, Amanda Rogers of Wichita. A memorial has been established with Eagle Valley Raptor Center, 927 N. 343rd W., Cheney, KS, 67025.

I was so sorry to hear of Jackie’s passing. I worked with her at TG & Y many years ago. She was a wonderful person and will be missed.
I am so very sorry to hear about the death of Jacquelin (Jackie) Shanks. I new her and the Schmidt family of Catherine, Kansas very well. We were close neighbors! My sympathy goes out to all her friends and loved ones. I know Jacquelin is now at peace with the Lord.
To Jackie and her family, We are so sorry for your loss, as a very loving and giving person has left this earth to be in heaven. She will be missed by many, and was a good friend to all of us who knew her.

I was sorry to see of Jackie’s passing. My condolences to her family. She was a classmate in the class of 1964 at Hays High School.
