Jacqueline Jane Holl Nagel was born April 1, 1927 in Wichita, KS. She was the daughter of Frederick George Holl and Margaret Swartz Holl. She passed away July 12, 2022 in Wichita. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Elwyn H. Nagel; her sister, Kathryn Ewing Lewis; and her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Elise (Igor) Ponomarev and Margery Nagel, all of Wichita.Jacqueline attended East High in Wichita and proceeded to graduate from Holland Hall in Tulsa in 1945. She attended Wichita University and Colorado College, where she met her future husband, Elwyn. Jacqueline graduated from Colorado College in 1951 with a BA in English. During her lifetime, she was a principal in the oil and gas exploration company that her father, Mr. Holl, founded.Jacqueline’s joyful and exuberant spirit was an inspiration to those who were fortunate to know her. She had an amazing soprano voice and enjoyed singing in the Grace Presbyterian Church choir for over 30 years. She also sang with the Wichita Choral Society as well as the Broadway Singers. She was very active in the community and was involved with the Wichita Musical Club, Wichita Grand Opera, Inc., Thursday Afternoon Music Club, Twentieth Century Club, Project Beauty, Petroleum Women, and AAUW.During her final years, Jacqueline lived an active and creative life assisted by the kindness and devotion of her caregivers: Rebecca Adams, Diane Doroshuk, Esther Gatua, Beatrice Jones, Sheila Mitchell and Debra Ryan.A private funeral, followed by a graveside service, was held July 22.Contributions may be made to the Jacqueline Nagel Memorial, established at the Kansas Oil Museum, 383 E. Central Ave., El Dorado, KS 67042. Please specify the donation is for the Jacqueline Nagel Memorial.Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
