James A. Dr. Loeffler

June 23, 1936 ~ November 16, 2018
Dr. James A. Loeffler, 82, made his transition into heaven on November 16, 2018. A service to honor Jims life will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E. 21st St. N. He was born on June 23, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland to James and Marjorie Loeffler. He had three loves during his life: his family, the University of Notre Dame, and service to others. He married Carol Jane Croucher on August 23, 1957, and together, they raised four children. While he was a student at the University of Notre Dame, he found his love for Notre Dame football, his faith which allowed him to become a reverent follower of Christ, as well as his purpose in life: service to others. Jim graduated from The University of Cincinnati Medical School in 1963, and since then served others through his 50 years as a physician, and his 30 years of service for the Guadalupe Clinic in Wichita where he served on the board of directors. He especially enjoyed meeting and selling tickets for the Guadalupe Clinics annual baseball fundraiser to the parishioners of Wichita each summer since he founded the event in 1989. Preceded in death by his brother, Jack. He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Kathleen (Britt) Dockery, and Colleen (Dr. Venki) Paramesh; sons, Scott (Nina) Loeffler, and Kevin (Karen) Loeffler; brothers, Robert (Mary Ann) Loeffler and Charles (Mary Barb) Loeffler; sister, Barbara (Dennis) Goulden; and grandchildren, Nelson Dockery, Catherine Loeffler, Nicole Dockery, Patrick Loeffler, Shannon Paramesh, and Steven Loeffler. In lieu of flowers, a monetary donation can be made to Guadalupe Clinic, 940 S St. Francis, Wichita, KS 67211, and Newman University Advancement Office for the Bishop Gerber Science Center, 3100 McCormick St. Wichita, KS 67213. I am so sorry to miss Dr. Ls service on Saturday but we are out of town that morning for the holiday weekend. Dr. Loeffler was just the best, twinkly eyed, onery, football loving, laughing, brilliant ‘old man’ alumni Ive ever known. He was the heartbeat of our local Alumni chapter and was just a heck of a lot of fun. he was a wonderful mentor to me and cared deeply for all of us, in our ND family. He loved his family and always had a great grandkid story to share. He laugh and his energy will be sorely missed.
Fleeta and I would like to express our sincere condolences. I remember Dr from our fun days coaching our sons in baseball and as one of his patients. Most of all, I remember Jim as a Gentle – Man always fun to be with. My prayers go to the family and repose of his soul.

Grief can be so hard, but your special memories can help you cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always, may our wonderful Heavenly Father provide you with the support and care that you need. (Psalms 145:18,19) Our heartfelt condolences.
I am a former patient of Dr. Loeffler. He was always very kind and talked to his patients not at them. My prayers and condolences to you at his passing.
Psalm 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years.
May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.
