Hornbeck, James Conway “Jim”, 84, retired 35-year Vulcan Chemicals transportation manager, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011. Rosary, 7 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 13, St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3636 N. Ridge Road. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Mary (Mackey); sisters, Evelyn and Norma Jean. Survivors: wife, Dorothy; children, Phil of Haysville, Doug (Donna) of Melvern, Gwen Snyder (Bruce) of Wichita, Tom (Debbie) of Wichita; brother, Edward (Kay) of Cheney; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Catholic Charities, 532 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214 and Victory In The Valley, 3755 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67218.
