James Dean Golden

James Dean Golden, 77, loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was born in Osawatomie on December 9, 1938, and passed away Monday, September 26, 2016. Memorial Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, followed by graveside service at the Rose Hill Cemetery. He graduated from Olpe High School and attended trade school to work with electronics. He worked much of his adult life as an electrician and retired from being an electronics maintenance specialist at Raytheon Aircraft in 2005 to devote more time to care for his wife whose health was failing. Jim married Carel Jones on May 26, 1963. The couple lived in Emporia, Wichita, and Topeka before moving to Rose Hill in 1976. Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Carel Golden; father, Charles Golden; mother, Mae Golden; brother, Ronald Golden. He is survived by his sons, Loren Golden (Angela) of Denton, TX, and Sheldon Golden of Merriam, KS; daughter, Ginger Golden of Rose Hill; granddaughters, Katherine and Lillian Golden; one niece, six nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mid America Chapter, 7611 State Line Ste 100, Kansas City, MO 64114.
