James E. Matson

James E. Matson, 83, retired educator with USD 259, Butler County Community College and Friends University, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Visitation with the family, 6-7 p.m., Monday, September 21, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Service, 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, First United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his mother, Victoria (Maday). Survivors include wife, Glenna; children, Viki Matson (Emily Askew) of Nashville, TN, Michael Matson (Jackie McClaskey) of Manhattan, David Matson (Cindy) of Everett, WA; their mother, Geri Ordway of Nashville, TN; stepsons, J.D. Bloom of Denver, CO, Craig Bloom of Wichita, Chris Bloom (Carla) of Tullahoma, TN; grandchildren, Jeremiah Matson, Jacinda Herring (Jonah), Scott Matson (Amanda McIntosh), Santana, Chante, Haley, Christian and Erin Bloom.
