James F. Loehr, 84, self employed masonry contractor, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m., Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., both on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3642 N Ridge Road, Wichita, KS 67205.
Jim was born on September 13, 1941, near Goddard, Kansas. He devoted his life to faith, family, and hard work. A mason by trade, he built not only with brick and stone but with integrity and care, laying foundations that will endure for generations. In1970, he founded Jim Loehr Masonry Construction a company that continues to thrive today under the guidance of his children and grandchildren- a testament to his vision, craftsmanship, and dedication.
Jim was a man of devout Catholic faith, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, always generous with his time and talent within his community. He was known for sharing his love of gardening, and his homemade salsa, beef jerky, and wine. Jim built more than walls – he built a legacy of love, faith, and family that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Josephine Loehr; sisters, Betty Rausch, Phyllis Loehr; and brother, Pete Loehr. He is survived by his loving wife, Geri (Heimerman) Loehr; daughters, Kim (Scott) Brown, Karla Loehr, Kristi (Justin) Glover, and Karin Seiler; nine grandchildren, Derek (Catherine), Andrew, Aaron, Katlyn (Alex), Nathan, Hayden, Broden, Owen and Garrett; three great-grandchildren, Liam, Alice and Kooper, with two more on the way; brothers, John (Anne) Loehr, and Don (Joyce) Loehr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with: St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School, 3642 N. Ridge Road, Wichita, KS 67205 and St. Vincent de Paul Society, 11000 SW Blvd. Wichita, KS 67215

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of your family for the loss of Jim. I am fortunate to have learned from him so much gardening knowledge & plants. He was a fount of information, inspiration. Rest in peace and may God’s perpetual light shine on him.

So sorry for your loss. Jim was a good man, husband, father and grandfather. Your family and all those acquainted with him have wonderful memories and that will help ease the pain.

Geri and Karin- I was devastated when I saw the news about Jim. He was such an amazing person — so kind and tender-hearted. He was always smiling, always welcoming. I’ll never forget how he used to tell me, “Come over anytime and pick anything you want from the garden.” That was just the kind of person he was — generous, genuine, and full of warmth. He will be deeply missed. Your family is in my prayers.
Jim was as good a man as we have ever known. He just brought joy to every occasion. If everyone had Jim’s qualities this would be a wonderful world. Rest in peace Jim.

Geri, Karin and Family, Kelsey informed us Wednesday evening that Jim has passed away. So sorry to hear. Always enjoyed the short conversations we had with you all at the St Francis, Bishop Carroll and St Catherine events that our Kids and Grandkids kept us involved in over the last 30+ years since we moved here. I remember when I used to drive Kelsey out to your beautiful place (Grade school days) on the country road and I said Jim, when are you are going to pave that road for me. He said some day ;-). He was right, it did get paved! He always had a smile. Thanks Jim, RIP!
