James Fritz

James “Jim” Fritz 67, Retired U.S. Probation Officer, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Visitation with Jims Family will be from 5:30 7:30 P.M., Monday, January 25, 2016, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Holy Savior Catholic Church. Graveside Service will be at 11:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Fairview Cemetery, Oskaloosa, KS. Jim played football at the University of Kansas from 1966-67. He also played for the Army and at New Mexico Highlands University. He graduated from KU in 1972. He earned his masters degree from Wichita State University. In 1978 he moved to Wichita and worked in the Federal Probation Office. In 2004, Jim retired to farm full-time in Douglass, KS. Preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Agnes Fritz; brother, Larry Fritz. Survived by his daughter, Angie Fritz of Wichita; siblings, Joyce (Marty) Morgan of Leavenworth, KS, Jerry (Barbara) of Wichita, Janet (James) Veilhauer of Shawnee, KS, Everett (Sandra) of Crown Point, IN, Gene (Cathy) of Olathe, KS, John of Kansas City, KS, Mark (Beth) of Valley Falls, KS, Terry (Mary Alice) of Wichita, Tom of Tuscon, AZ.
